Since our founding, we have worked hard to earn the respect and loyalty of our referral partners for our responsiveness, professionalism and attention to quality.
Achieving recognition as one of Canada’s leading providers of expert
evaluations, assessments and treatments has given us important
insights into the factors that contribute to successful rehabilitation.
Among them is our observation that persons who are disabled respond
best when their re-employment prospects are explored and assessed
early. Unattended disability is not only an opportunity cost to the
claimant, but to his or her family, and others having an interest in their
successful recovery.
These observations inspired us to develop and launch VistaWorksTM. VistaWorks is an array of co-ordinated assessment and treatment services that are designed to facilitate one’s return to gainful employment. Whether the referral is for our new, progressive Work Hardening program, which utilizes best-in-class simulation methods and apparatus, a Functional Capacity Evaluation or a Transferable Skills Analysis, clients receive only one standard of quality and one standard of objectivity...the VISTA standard.
Given the pivotal contribution that FCEs and Work Hardening make to
Return-to-Work programming and goal setting, one of our Clinical
Co-coordinators is assigned to every FCE and Work Hardening referral.
Our Clinical Co-ordinators are Physiotherapists, Kinesiologists,
Occupational Therapists and Chiropractors; in other words, regulated
health professionals who oversee the services being performed and
assess the appropriateness of other services within the VistaWorks
series to the ultimate re-employment of their client. When we receive a
Work Hardening referral for instance, Clinical Co-ordination ensures that
information about prior assessments is reviewed for its currency and
reliability, and that it can in turn be relied upon for appropriate, realistic
goal setting. It also ensures that should a formal FCE be required, we
will recommend it.
As you can see, VistaWorks is more than simple re-packaging and cosmetics; it is about early intervention, program design, co-ordination and expert guidance. In other words, it is no less than a re-thinking of the traditional Return-to-Work model.
